1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions:

  • "Service" or "Services" refers to watch repair, maintenance, and restoration services provided by runevopmy
  • "Client" or "You" refers to the person or entity requesting our services
  • "We," "Us," or "Our" refers to runevopmy, operating from 44 Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur
  • "Timepiece" or "Watch" refers to any mechanical watch submitted for service
  • "Agreement" refers to these Terms and Conditions together with any service quotation or invoice

2. Acceptance of Terms

By requesting our services or submitting a timepiece to runevopmy, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

You must be at least 18 years of age to engage our services. By using our services, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement.

3. Service Description

runevopmy provides professional watch repair and maintenance services, including but not limited to:

  • Movement cleaning and lubrication
  • Pocket watch restoration
  • Engraving conservation
  • Movement diagnostics and timing adjustment
  • Component repair or replacement
  • Case work and refinishing

Service availability and scope are subject to our assessment of the timepiece and technical feasibility. We reserve the right to decline service requests that fall outside our expertise or capabilities.

4. Service Process

4.1 Initial Assessment

Upon receipt of your timepiece, we conduct a preliminary examination and provide an assessment of required work, estimated costs, and expected turnaround time. This assessment is provided in good faith based on visible condition; additional issues may be identified during service.

4.2 Authorization to Proceed

Work will not commence until you have approved the service quotation. If additional work is required beyond the initial quote, we will contact you for authorization before proceeding. Failure to respond to our request for authorization within 14 days may result in return of the timepiece without service.

4.3 Service Completion

Upon completion, we will notify you that your timepiece is ready for collection or delivery. Timepieces not collected within 90 days may incur storage fees at MYR 50 per month.

5. Pricing and Payment

5.1 Service Fees

Service fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and are based on the complexity of work required. Quoted prices are valid for 30 days from the date of quotation.

5.2 Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of service before the timepiece is released. We accept cash, bank transfer, and major credit cards. A deposit of 50% may be required for services exceeding MYR 2,000.

5.3 Cancellation

If you cancel a service request after work has commenced, you will be charged for work completed up to the point of cancellation, plus any parts already ordered. Deposits are non-refundable if work has begun.

6. Turnaround Time

Estimated turnaround times are provided in good faith but are not binding commitments. Actual completion time may vary due to:

  • Part availability and sourcing requirements
  • Complexity of unforeseen issues discovered during service
  • Part fabrication needs
  • Queue of other work in progress

We will inform you of any significant delays as soon as they are identified.

7. Client Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information about the timepiece and its condition
  • Disclosing any previous repairs or modifications
  • Removing items of personal value (straps, chains) unless service is required for these components
  • Ensuring you have authority to authorize service for the timepiece
  • Responding to our communications in a timely manner
  • Collecting the timepiece within a reasonable time after completion

8. Parts and Materials

We use genuine parts when available. If genuine parts cannot be sourced, we will discuss alternative options, which may include compatible aftermarket parts or fabrication of components. The choice of parts will be documented and agreed upon before installation.

Replaced parts become our property unless you specifically request their return prior to service commencement.

9. Warranties and Service Guarantee

9.1 Service Warranty

We provide a 12-month warranty on our workmanship from the date of service completion. This warranty covers defects in the work performed but does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage from misuse, accidents, or improper handling
  • Issues arising from unauthorized repairs by third parties
  • Water damage if water resistance was not part of the service
  • Components that were not serviced or replaced

9.2 Limitation of Warranty

Our warranty obligation is limited to repairing or re-servicing the affected area at no charge. We do not provide refunds for completed services except where service failed to achieve the agreed-upon outcome and cannot be corrected.

10. Disclaimers

Our services are provided on an "as is" basis. While we exercise professional skill and care, we make no representations or warranties regarding:

  • The future performance or longevity of vintage or antique timepieces
  • The ability to restore timepieces to original factory condition
  • The availability of specific parts or materials
  • Achievement of specific cosmetic results on aged or damaged components

We are not liable for pre-existing damage or defects that were not identified during the initial assessment.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service in question.

We shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, consequential, or incidental damages
  • Loss of use, profits, or business opportunities
  • Sentimental value or emotional distress
  • Damage caused by events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure)

12. Insurance and Risk

We maintain insurance for timepieces in our care up to MYR 50,000 per item. If your timepiece exceeds this value, we recommend maintaining your own insurance coverage and notifying us of the value.

You bear the risk of damage during shipping to and from our workshop unless we have arranged the shipping on your behalf.

13. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and photographs, is our property or used with permission and is protected by Malaysian and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

14. Privacy and Data Protection

We collect and process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information.

15. Termination

Either party may terminate this Agreement:

  • By mutual written agreement
  • If the other party breaches these Terms and fails to remedy the breach within 14 days of notification
  • If circumstances make completion of service impractical or impossible

Upon termination, you remain liable for payment for work completed up to the termination date.

16. Dispute Resolution

16.1 Informal Resolution

In the event of any dispute, we encourage you to contact us first to seek an informal resolution. Most concerns can be addressed through direct communication.

16.2 Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

17. General Provisions

17.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any service quotation or invoice, constitute the entire agreement between you and runevopmy regarding our services.

17.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

17.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

17.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

18. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. The "Last Updated" date indicates when these Terms were most recently revised.
